The summer season has started, Kashmir is the best place to travel this summer season. The ancient name of Kashmir was káśmīra. Kashmir is a princely state and it is divided between India and Pakistan and China. Kashmir is larger than the United Nations’ 87 member countries, It’s also bigger than 10 US states. Kashmir is considered a symbol of beauty for its snow-covered mountains. Every segment of Kashmir is said to be a part of the country, even today, the revolt is going on between India and Pakistan to join the entire Kashmir region.
History of Kashmir:
In 1349, Shahmir started to rule Kashmir, he was the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir. After this, for the next five centuries, Kashmir was ruled by Muslims. Kashmir was ruled by the Mughals and after that Ranjit Singh occupied it here. After the defeat of the first Anglo-Sikh war in 1846, Raja Gulab Singh of Jammu became the new ruler of Kashmir. In 1947, British India was divided into two states, India and Pakistan. Sikh King opted for India, But Pakistanis opposed it and the war started in both the countries. This region is divided into three territorial disputes between the three countries: Pakistan controls the north-western part (the northern region and Azad Kashmir (which translates as “Free Kashmir”), India central and southern part (Jammu and Kashmir) and Ladakh, and controls the People’s Republic of China Northeastern part (Aksai Chin and Trans-Karakoram Tract).
Demographic and Economic Status of Kashmir:
Kashmir was census in 1901, The population of Kashmir and Jammu was 2,905,578. Of these, 2,154,695 (74.16%) Muslims, 689,073 (23.72%) Hindus, 25,828 Sikhs (0.89%), and 35,047 (1.21%) Buddhists (935 (0.032%) others. The principal tribes of Muslims in the princely state include butt, dar, lone, jat, gujar, Rajput, Sudhan and Khatri.
Kashmir is the economy of agriculture, It is grown rice, maize, wheat oats and barley. Asparagus, artichoke, seakale, broad beans, scurllynners, beetroot, callifluver and cabage are also grown for the cold climate here. Fruit trees are common in the valley, and cultivated gardens produce pears, apples, peaches and cherries.

How to reach Here:
Most airways are used in Kashmir, There are 3 airports in Kashmir Srinagar Jammu and Leh. Jammu is the main hub for state. You can say it is the gateway to Jammu & Kashmir state. Bus from Delhi and Chandigarh are available to reach Jammu. Leh Ladakh is difficult to travel place to arrive in the region of Jammu & Kashmir. There are two different ways to reach this location. First is via national highway 1 from Srinagar and other by Shimla Manali route. Leh is 434 km from Srinagar while 473 km from Manali. Travelling to Leh from these locations takes nearly 18 hours to 24 hour. Jammu is the main station that is connected to all parts of India. Express trains, Rajdhani, and Superfast trains are available from different locations to reach Jammu Tawi station. Tracks are extended to Udhampur and Katra. Few trains give access to these stations as well.
